Halloween Top 20 (#10): Gruesome eats ? The Full Moxie ...

Food and drink are essential in entertaining. And when you?re talking Halloween? They?re probably ALMOST as important as the decor.

People expect a certain amount of gore at Halloween parties. Even better? They appreciate?clever.

I?ve seen all kinds of amazing food items on the Interwebs that have both inspired me ? and given me pause. Finding the right balance of gory and unique is tough. But it can be done.

Witches Fingers:

Clever, clever cookies. I?ve seen these done before, but never so well as Domestic Sugar Bake Shop.?The cookie itself is a basic sugar cookie, rolled, tipped with an almond sliver and baked. Once baked, dust on cocoa powder with a pastry paint brush.

Flayed Skin Cheese Ball:

The cheese ball in the quintessential holiday appetizer. And nothing says ?gory Halloween appetizer? like the flayed skin cheese ball. It?s your basic cheese ball recipe, formed inside a Prosciutto-laced face mask. This DIY comes via Instructables.

Trip Tip Pant Leg:

A few years back I created an amazing display of tri tip of which I never took a picture. So imagine if you will: A ?old pair of denim jeans with the leg ripped open and this tri tip all cared up sitting in it. Brilliant, yes? Yes.

Jello Worms:

What Halloween spread is complete without some kind of faux insect on the table? The Idea Room offers a DIY on how to make these wiggly, jiggly worms. Hint: Bendy straws and jello.

Enjoy!
