U.S. Bank Eve Community Celebration Set For Tonight; But Fireworks Canceled

U.S. BANK EVE FIREWORKS CANCELED TONIGHT, BUT THREE EARLY COUNTDOWNS TO THE NEW YEAR CONTINUE

U.S. BANK EVE GATHERS FRIENDS AND FAMILY FOR A NIGHT OF FUN ON DECEMBER 31

MADISON, WI., October 13, 2010 ? U.S. Bank plans to ring in the New Year better than ever with its 21ST annual U.S. Bank Eve community celebration on Saturday, December 31. U.S. Bank?s alcohol-free, family parties will take place at six different venues throughout the Madison area on New Year?s Eve.

Families can travel from one party to another to enjoy the variety of hands-on activities, music and fun taking place downtown from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. at U.S. Bank Plaza, Monona Terrace, and the Madison Children?s Museum as well as from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at three outlying sites including Olbrich Gardens, Keva Sports Center, and the Sun Prairie Athletic Club and Ice Arena.

Scott Lockard, U.S. Bank Madison market president, said U.S. Bank annually hosts anywhere from 8,000 - 10,000 people who like to share an inexpensive yet fun New Year?s Eve night out with friends and family enjoying many of Madison?s time honored entertainers. He noted an early New Year's kiddie countdown will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Madison Children's Museum, 8:30 p.m. at U.S. Bank Plaza and at 9:30 p.m. at Monona Terrace, where a balloon drop will take place in the Exhibition Hall. DUE TO HIGH WIND ADVISORY, THE FIREWORKS THAT WERE DUE TO HAPPEN AT 10:05 HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. A Holiday Trolley will shuttle party goers to the three downtown Madison locations up until 10 p.m.

?Although our employees volunteer their time and talents to many Madison organizations throughout the year, U.S. Bank Eve is one event they really look forward to participating in as a way to say thank you to our many customers in the community,? said Lockard.

Other activities planned for this year?s event include listening to Ken Lonnquist while creating your New Year?s Eve look with hat making, balloon and face painting artists at U.S. Bank Plaza, participating in crafts and cool exhibits at the Madison Children?s Museum, and or taking part in the ?do it yourself Rumpus Circus?, complete with juggling and low wire, riding on circus train or enjoying Rick Wilcox?s magic show, dancing to Kings of Radio cover band, seeing TR Loon?s juggling show or bouncing on one of the many giant inflatables at Monona Terrace. UW Space Place will also be there with a solar scavenger hunt.

In addition to gym games and HIP HOP AND Salsa dancing at Keva Sports Center in Middleton, and zoo animals and crafts, Wii games, Joey Banks and Kioja girls dancing troop, there will be skating, swimming, crafts and colorful birds at the Sun Prairie Athletic Club and Ice Rink.

U.S. Bank Eve tickets can be purchased beginning December 1 from any U.S. Bank location in Madison. A family pass, which includes two adults and tickets for up to three children in the family, is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Individual ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children 5 to 15 if purchased in advance, or $7 for adults, $5 for children if purchased at the door. The event is free to children under five years old.
